Richard Moreno

Hello my name is Richard Moreno and I teach Middle School English at Noli Indian School. I am currently serving as the Advisory Coordinator at Noli and have been in this designation since the fall of 2018. I was born and raised in the state of New Mexico and descend from the Pueblo peoples and specifically from a Tiwa Community. I am proud to continue to speak my native language, Southern Tiwa, as well as Spanish and English. I adhere to and participate in the yearly cycle of ceremonial events, and continue to practice ancient traditions at home.

I joined Noli Indian School in the fall of 2016, having moved from the Lawndale Elementary School District in Los Angeles, California. Education continues to be a second career for me and has expanded my scope of knowledge in the areas of education, building equity for post-secondary education and leadership.

I am a graduate of Wayland Baptist University, where I received my Master’s in Education Administration in the fall of 2005. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Social Psychology in the fall of 2003 from Park University.
