“Let us pick up our books and our pens, they are the most powerful weapons.”-Malala-Nobel Peace Prize.
I have had the honor and opportunity to teach and learn from my students during the last 14 years at NOLI, School of Braves.
I teach Spanish which, among other reasons, opens the doors to communicate with the 400 million Spanish speakers in the world. Furthermore, learning Spanish improves students' knowledge and understanding of their own language. English and other European languages have many words of Latin origin. Spanish, one of the Romance languages, comes from Latin. Since Latin roots are the basis of so many English words, especially scientific and technical ones, knowledge of Spanish will help English speakers and, to some extent, other European language speakers, not only to expand their vocabulary, but also to understand words better in their own language.
