Subject: Important Information Regarding 8th Grade Promotion Criteria
Dear 8th Grade Parents,
I hope this letter finds you well. As we approach the end of the school year, we would like to bring your attention to the criteria for 8th-grade promotion and participation in related events. It is essential for both parents and students to be aware of these requirements to ensure a smooth and enjoyable transition to high school.
- Academic Performance:
- Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Those who do not achieve this GPA by the 3rd quarter mid-term progress reports will not be eligible to participate in the end-of-year promotion ceremony.
- Classroom Citizenship:
- Students should have no more than two INC (incomplete) marks for classroom citizenship.
- Eligibility for the promotion ceremony will be determined by the number of incomplete marks at the 3rd quarter mid-term progress reports.
- Behavioral Standards:
- Noli enforces a strict policy on school-wide behavior.
- Students are allowed no more than 4 referrals and 0 suspensions during the school year to qualify for the end-of-year 8th-grade field trip.
- This will be assessed based on the 3rd quarter mid-term progress reports
Notification Process
- Parents will be promptly notified if their student is in danger of losing any privileges based on referrals and/or GPA criteria.
- Please refer to page 32 in the 23/24 student handbook for more detailed information on these criteria.
